My Easter Bunny

You are looking at a girl who LOVES Easter! Charlotte had the time of her life shaking jelly-bean-filled plastic eggs. I also filled a few with Cheerios; although they don't rattle as well, she is actually allowed to eat them! After a couple hours of this, she enjoyed chasing Fritz (who turned out to be a lady cockatiel). Charbaby also tolerated her Easter dress very well, although it disturbed her crawling.
On a separate note, Shawn and I were discussing the interesting origin of our Easter customs. Because Easter is a combination-celebration of Christ's resurrection and the ancient pagan fertility rituals previously celebrated at this time of year, our Easter practices seem to have little in common with our professed reason for celebration. However, as I watched my own happy offspring enjoying the holiday, I realized that the tone is all-inclusive. Christ's resurrection makes rebirth worthwhile. There is a profound hope associated with the regeneration of life in spring, especially in light of God's mercy. It is a joy to perpetuate life with a sense of purpose and a hope for eternity.

I love these pictures! Charlotte is so cute. I loved the bird part too. Do you remember our bird Marty? Well we had Marty for about 6 years before Marty (who we referred to as a he) started to lay eggs. We had been calling the bird a him so long that it was hard to change. I still catch myself referring to her as a him.

Your whole family is so dang cute. We would absolutely LOVE it if you came to visit. Charlotte is so adorable and I think you are right that Charlotte and Lucy's names sound good together. Charlotte was actually on our short list when we were trying to decide on a name.

You are right--no more comms for me (although I wish I could have done it). I wasn't quite done when Steve graduated so I had to major in something that I could finish via independent study wherever we ended up for law school. So I am just finally getting ready to start my last course for Business Management. It seems pretty irrelevent to my life right now, but hopefully it will come in handy someday when I get around to actually pursuing one of my many business ideas.

Ok, that was a lot to write in a blog comment...sorry!
