Learning & Growing

Shawn is now in Week 2 of the International MBA program at GA State, but he's not the only Butler learning new tricks! Charlotte is learning and changing so rapidly now. She has turned into a wild child overnight, it seems. Maybe it's the change in diet? Is it the super-vitamin-infused sweet potatoes? She doesn't stay put very long when I put her down; this is both exciting and a little scary. She is constantly reaching and grabbing for toys, clothing, hair, plastic bags, animals... or whatever else is within reach.

Charlotte & Shawndaddy on his 1st day of school.

Reaching for the camera.
Charlotte was a real crowd-pleaser in Sunday School this week. She was too wiggly to stay in my lap, so I put her down to play. She then rolled under the pew and made friends with the woman sitting behind us! When we took her back, she kept glancing over her shoulder at the Sunday School teacher and breaking out in tears. He has a booming, dynamic voice that Charlotte finds rather scary. We then tried putting her in the side aisle so that we could see her but she couldn't see the teacher. However, Shawn finally had to take her out in the hall because she was making loud "Indian noises" by yelling and pulling her fist in and out of her mouth
Charlotte making "Indian noises," a skill acquired while hanging out with Aunt Dana.
Charlotte is getting ready to crawl soon. She can pull herself onto her hands and knees and rock, but she only scoots backwards when she tries to get somewhere. She also enjoys standing up while holding our hands for balance and support. Charlotte is happiest when she is moving, playing, and exploring.

Charlotte looks just like Shawn in this shot!

Too cute! She really does look like Shawn. So... I know it's silly, but I listen to your blog while I work. I don't have much of a music collection on my work computer and I really like your playlist. So count on me to always be the first to see new updates as you post them!

Um, can I just say that Charlotte looks like Charlotte.

I just don't think she'd love growing up being told she looks like her dad.

And I love that Carly listens to your playlist at work!

I love her!!! That last picture... heck yes, that is so a Shawn face! She is beautiful! Dont you think they get more fun everyday? Today I had an almost conversation with Elle about Elmo and Dora. It is crazy! I love days when you know that your efforts with them are paying off and they are learning something from you!

Charlotte is a lot prettier than her dad. They do seem to have the same care-free, happy spirit that tends to spread to everyone around them. Butler, are you teaching her the toothpaste in the frig trick?

Her eyes are so beautiful! I can't believe how grown up she is. What happened to the busy little baby that I held at dinner a few months ago!?! I hope we get to see you soon.

Yes, I must agree with everyone that she's an adorable baby. It's a good thing you have this blog, or I'd really be missing out on everything. Two months! I think I can make it.

Also, Jared appears to have become an Asian in my absence. You'd think Mom or Dad would've filled me in on such an important piece of news...
